“I came into this world with nothing and everything I’ll take from it is my conscience.” – Garth Taylor

One of the worst things that can happen to you, I think, is the fact that you work for your goals, you sacrifice so many important things along the way, and when you get to the top, you find out you’ve been climbing the wrong mountain.

And you don’t need to get to the end of your days for you to understand if you’re doing it or not. Doing the wrong things for the right reasons doesn’t matter in the same way that it doesn’t matter to do the right things for the wrong reasons.

The things and the reasons need to be in tune.

You know perfectly well if what you do and why you do it conform. Don’t tell me you’re naive enough to say: “I had no choice” because your conscience gives you all the information both about things to do and about the reasons to do it. You just need to listen carefully.

One thing is certain. When you finish each day you are subject to a trial. This is the same judgment that you’ll face when you’re gone from this world: how did you guide your life today according to your conscience?

A lifetime is wasted a day at a time. Make sure that you climb your mountain today and that it’s the right mountain.
